Canadian Geese
The Canadian Geese are back in town. It’s neat to see such large birds walking around. Although, large birds drop large… droppings. That’s the not so fun part. They make a pretty big mess wherever they go.
I was driving by Hampshire Pewter on Wednesday when I saw these Geese walking around and eating things out of the grass. I started to take a few photos of them standing around when I decided I wanted an action shot.
I took this photo while I was running at them. They honked a lot.

You were running!?
These things are bad news, and the population in the Lakes Region has exploded in recent years. Nothing will foul Winnipesaukee faster. i’ve seen it down here in my home state of PA — formerly usable bodies of water forever ruined by high bacteria counts and run-off from goose poop. I can’t drive to work without having to stop the car for geese — especially this time of year, when they have their young. We can only urge NH F&G to act and adopt population controls on these birds. You only need to look south to PA to see what will happen if you do not.
I was recently corrected myself. Those are Canada Geese, not Canadian Geese. FYI. I would also like to send you a few Wolfeboro shots for consideration, as I am a long time photographer/videographer and summer resident. I actually went to the Carpenter school for a semester while my sister was being born at Huggins.
